The NBA announced today that Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas has been fined $25,000 for “directing inappropriate language toward a fan” during the Celtics 126-89 loss in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semi-finals series against the Washington Wizards.

After having a 2-0 lead in the series, the Celtics fell victim to the Verizon Center fortress, losing both games whilst tempers flared between the two teams.

Thomas allegedly said to the heckler “I will f*** you up and you know that”.

This is the second time this post-season that a Celtics player has been fined for responding to a fan. Marcus Smart was fined $25,000 for flipping the bird at a fan during Game 2 of the Celtics 1st round series against the Chicago Bulls.
