Marcus Smart fined for flipping the bird at a fan

Marcus Smart has been fined $25,000 for ‘making an obscene gesture on the playing court’, it was announced today via a press release from the NBA.

The incident occurred with 6:07 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Celtics’ 111-97 loss to the Chicago Bulls yesterday.

In his post-game press conference, Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens called Smart’s actions “unacceptable,” as per MassLive.com’s Jay King.
