Sixers aren’t too pleased with Embiid’s shirtless dancing at Meek Mill concert

With the Sixers obviously wanting to be cautious as Joel Embiid nurses a minor meniscus tear in his left knee, any non-basketball related activity is the last thing they want to see.

Naturally, when video emerged of Embiid dancing shirtless on stage during Meek Mill’s recent concert in Philly, a collective shudder went through the organisation.

“It’s not the best thing to see when you wake up on Saturday morning and you find out that was the case, because I know the reaction,” Colangelo told reporters via CSN Philly. “I understand some of the potential concern out there.

“Perhaps he crossed a line, perception-wise.”

Whilst this is obviously hilarious, the optics aren’t great given the Sixers poor track record with big men and injuries, plus the previous question marks around Embiid’s work ethic during rehab.

Despite the unscheduled dance session at the Wells Fargo Center, Colangelo was quick to praise the way Embiid’s handled himself this season

“It’s hard to say to someone like Joel, that has been a tremendous character and tremendous citizen for us, that he’s doing anything untoward or wrong,” Colangelo said.

Embiid is expected to be sidelined till after the All-Star break.
