NBA All Star Weekend 2013 – Starters Announced!

This evening on TNT’s Inside the NBA, the 2013 NBA All Star Weekend Starters were announced, as voted by the fans of the NBA.

Kobe Bryant finished as the leading vote getter with 1,591,437 votes edging reigning MVP LeBron James by around 7,800 votes. Kobe will be starting his 15th consecutive All Star Game overtaking Jerry West, Karl Malone & Shaquille O’Neal to single handedly hold the record for the most consecutive starts.

Kevin Garnett is back in the starting lineup in his 15th All Star Game. He & Kobe are now 4 All Star Appearances behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time record of 19 games.

Here are the starting lineups:

Unfortunately, Houston’s dynamic backcourt duo of James Harden & Jeremy Lin left their run too late to make the starting lineup. Although, most believe that Harden will be a shoe-in to make the team.

Don’t expect Lin to play in the game. However, with his International appeal, expect him to take part in the Shooting Stars & Skills Challenge competitions. Plus, potentially be a coach for the Rising Stars Challenge.

This announcement has got us at #believethehype excited about the upcoming weekend that is now less than a month away!

As you are aware, we will be in Houston as a part of our Texas All Star Weekend road-trip soaking in the action, bringing you the best content from the festivities.

Apart from Houston, we will also be heading to Dallas & San Antonio to watch some hoops, go to the rodeo, champagne & campaign at Tony Parker’s Nueve Lounge & of course… gee-up & create some great content & episodes for you guys.
